My name is Randy Halprin, I am currently on death row in Texas. I'm really not sure what to write in this, but I can say that I'm not some sad sap desperate for a penpal or anything like that. Honestly, I'm really not looking for a 'penpal'. That word seems so...impersonal? I'm hoping that I can make true friends and share in one another’s life. I’m not interested in material gains or romance. I think that life, no matter where we might be has purpose and there are lessons to be learned no matter who we are or where we are. I don't believe that life is a lesson futility. I’m not a perfect person and I don't pretend to be. I've tried to take the time and life I still have to better myself, to learn and to grow. I'm a person who believes that actions speak louder than words. I believe that there are people who can also help us to become a better person. It may sound contrived, but it's what I believe. It's easy to become cynical in a place like death row but I refuse to be. I just want to be a better person and I believe there are decent and honest people out there who share in the same goals.

Some generalities about me: Music and writing are passions of mine. I love to read and learn. I believe in always keeping my ears open because even an ignorant person can offer a nugget of wisdom. Lost is my all-time favorite t.v. show. I'm into alternative/Indie rock, but enjoy other genres, too. Music is the language of the soul and is universal. The Cure is my favorite band, as I love sad depressing music. Ha! I like to laugh inspite of listening to sad music and have a witty sense of humor, I think. I'm liberal and spiritual.

Mostly, tough, I'm just trying to live in whatever amount of time I might have left. I hope to meet someone or people who like to laugh and learn. Who appreciate honesty and, if earned, loyality. I just want to grow... Take care and hope to hear from you soon!
