Dear
future friend
Hey
what's
up, how’s
it going? If your reading this then
you’re in for a treat.
Your about to
learn all about an individual
who has as we say in Latin "Veni
Vedi Vici" ...
I came I saw
I conquered! As I'm
sure you all have figured out by now, this little thing we call life is
one long continuous string of weird crazy learning experiences.
I'm
in a position where one of the main things I want to do Ls share e all
that was, is &
will be of my
life! Now you’re probably wondering why that is ..???
Well get ready,
because here
comes the first zinger(careful, because the zingers fly fast in the
thunder dome) ...
I am a 30
year old Hispanic who lives in an all bills paid gated
community that also provides weekly dry cleaning
...
I'm
an
inmate on Death Row,
&
not just any
Death Row, Texas
Death Row! The
Death Row capital of USA where more people are executed than all other
states combined.
The purpose
of this letter it to introduce myself to anybody who's
willing to get to know me.
All in the
hopes of gaining &
building some
friendships that will last a lifetime. When people think of Death Row or
prison-inmates
in general~
it's
usually
an image of a violent unsympathetic eon artist type of
person. Well I have came, saw &
conquered
this stereotype.
Just
as there is a wide assortment of diversity in every community
in the free world, we are also very diverse in here in the
prison system. Before I begin to tell you all about myself, I want to
share something that the Russian author/poet Fyodor Dostoevsky once said.
He said
"The degree
of civilization
in a society can be judged by entering
its
prison's."!
I'm
the kind of person who likes thinking thoughtful thoughts,
&
as you will
see humor plays a big part in my life in here.
Now,
on to a summary
of my life & who I am ...
My
story begins in the rural countryside town of Greenbough
Alabama where I grew up with my
mom &
spent a lot
of time with
my
friend Jenny ...
Oh wait,
that's
the beginning of the "Forest
Gump" movie!
Sorry
,
I daydream a
lot. ..
&
I always
wanted a friend
named Jenny.(So
if there's
any "Jenny's"
reading this
all I want
to say is "'Sup"!)
Alright, my
story begins in Houston Texas
where I spent most of my early childhood.
My
grandma(maternal)
continue:

page 8:
magazines
...BUT,
they
must be sent to us from the vendors(publisher,
bookstore,
online store,etc.)!
We
can't
receive these mailed
personally
from somebody directly.
This
prevents
people from
smuggling
in contraband to us
As
far as writing materials,
we
used to be able to receive these from outside vendors as well ...
but
now
we must buy all this from the
prison commissary store.
The
prison system is basically cornering
the market on this
by
saying "You
can't write to nobody unless you buy the materials
from
US!".
1
believe this is what they call a monopoly, since
they
are selling us materials that they are manufacturing in
prison
factories.(It
is called "Texas
Correctional Industries")
We
are still allowed to order &
purchase
greeting cards from
outside
vendors,
so
that is good.
Well
there you have it, my story from as far back as I
can
remember to the here &
now.(A
quick summary of it at least.)
As
1 said in the first paragraph,
the
purpose of this letter
is
to introduce myself to anybody
who
I
s
willing 'the
get
to know me.
1
hope to get
some
good responses from folks who are looking
to
make a true lasting friendship.
People
who like
to write
long
letters &
are
open-minded so that we can talk about anything
&
everything.
I'll
share all that I am with those who are willing
to
do the same.
Can
you see the Sun during the day from where
you're
at? 1 can, so I guess we must not be that far apart!
If
you write me 1 will always give you a speedy reply. Thank
You
for taking the time to read this ...BYE
...MUCH
LOVE ...
The
following
is
a few poems of mine that l'd like to share
with
you ENJOY! After these I will list all my contact info.
"Voice
of Execution”
2-4-15
What
do they want from me
just
leave me alone.
I'm
trying to be at peace
with
this heart of stone.
It
seems remorse came late
still
can't accept this fate.
(cont. on next pg.)
...
like incantations.
Now
just know I felt the need
to
express my thought's.
On
the power of words
learned
& taught!
