State-administered death is always a greater horror than any other by virtue of the methodical reasoning that precedes it. French philosopher Albert Camus wrote that "capital punishment is the most premeditated of murders". "The United States' concept of justifiable homicide/Executions in criminal law stands on the dividing line between an excuse, justification and an exculpation. In other words, it takes a case that would otherwise have been a murder or another crime representing intentional killing, and either excuses or justifies the individual accused from all criminal liability or treats the accused differently from other intentional killers.

GREETINGS...

Hello! My name is Juan. I am 28 years old. I'm originally from Mexico. I write these lines in hopes that I find someone I can correspond with. Age is not a problem, sometimes all you need is a friend you can trust & talk to without being judged. I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

For the last 6 years Texas Death Row has been my home. I came to Death Row in 1999, at the age of 22. All along I lived under the impression that one day, some day, the truth would come out. But as I get old and as the years go by I realize, that's not going to happen, I doubt it ever will. How can you fight a system that appoints your own attorneys? How can you expect these attorneys to fight for your life when all they see is the criminal? More importantly, how can you accept the fact that you are going to be executed for a crime you did not commit? These are some of the questions I am faced with each and every day. I order to be able to survive in this environment you have to find a balance. For me that balance is my faith, my hope, the comfort of knowing that no matter what happens it will all be in the hands of God. That, in itself provides me the strength to face whatever the new day brings.

Aside from that I find joy in the simple things we are allowed to do. Be it reading a book, drawing a picture, writing a poem or going outside to the rec yard for a walk, it's all a blessing in itself.

Once again, thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you.

God Bless

Grüße...

Hallo!
